Our journey began in 2017 for a simple reason: to resurrect a cult travel bag. Industrial designer Malcolm Fontier’s Getaway bag had been out of production for several years when it was featured in the 2016 documentary, Minimalism, as the bag of choice of Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, otherwise known as The Minimalists. After receiving hundreds of requests to bring it back, Malcolm and The Minimalists decided to collaborate on a new, improved version of the bag.
Our mission is to create unique and refined, responsibly-sourced travel accessories for environmentally-conscious travelers.
I purchased my bag through its launch campaign and received it as expected without a hitch. I bought two and have traveled with this bag nearly a dozen times. I've used it both in the car and on the plane. It's been a great bag. It's unique, durable, and functional. I enjoy how the company values quality and recognizes the impact their product can have on the world. The packaging was minimal but intentionally designed to reduce waste. I use this bag every chance that I can. I truthfully find opportunities to use it. I love it.
